Description:Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Chief Engineer to join the Advanced Persistent Surveillance Systems (APS2) team in our Special Programs (SP) Line of Business. The APS2 team supports development and integration of advanced technologies to provide solutions to our national security mission partners' most challenging problems. The successful candidate will support the APS2 Director in ensuring the success of projects through application of adequately tailored engineering processes, strengthening the organization's brand through communications with both external and internal stakeholders, and growing competitive discriminators through technical oversight of internal designs and subcontracted efforts. The APS2 Chief Engineer will lead and/or support strategy, business capture, technology planning and program execution efforts across the SP Advanced Programs portfolio. This role also supports the organization's human capital strategy through participation in staffing, mentoring and other personnel related activities. Some travel is required for the position.
Basic Qualifications:
Familiarity with RF payload design, analysis, integration, test and operation.
Familiarity with class A, B, C and D spacecraft.
Familiarity with design considerations for Payload, Bus, Communications and Ground Segment.
Business capture experience.
Experience leading technical teams.
Familiarity with principles of System Engineering and System Architecture
Experience supporting Root Cause / Corrective Action investigations.
Experience interfacing with executive leadership, customer counterparts and/or subcontractors
High level of accountability and a proven track record of meeting commitments
Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working environment across disparate organizations
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
Desired Skills:
Experience with RF payload design, analysis, integration, test and operation.
Experience with class A, B, C and D spacecraft.
Experience architecting or designing Payload, Bus, Communications and Ground Segments.
Proposal support experience to include narrative and BOE writing.
Experience performing in a Chief Engineer or CPE role on an execution program.
Experience performing in System Engineering and System Architecture roles.
Experience leading Root Cause / Corrective Action investigations.
Experience with Special Programs products, missions and customers.
Outstanding, trusted relationships with executive customers and senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues to non-technical executives and other decision makers.
Experience establishing program technical baselines.
Experience resolving complex organizational and technical challenges requiring integration with cross-functional teams
Strategy development and strategic messaging experience
Familiarity with Special Programs customers' mission needs
Current TS/SCI clearance

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $140,400 - $234,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
