Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is looking for an
experienced DevOps Engineer (Level 2 OR 3) to augment our team. The
DevOps engineers must have an excellent understanding of common
system architecture, provisioning, and administration, but also
have experience with the traditional developer toolset and
practices such as using source control, giving and receiving code
reviews, writing unit tests, and familiarity with agile principles.
Successful candidates will support daily tasks by managing the
CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, monitoring system health,
handling infrastructure as code. This position will be based in
Aurora, CO. About our organization: You'll be joining our growing
Aurora Software and Digital Engineering department which has 200
Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, Database
Administrator, and Network Engineer peers from entry-level to the
most senior chief engineers and architects. DevOps Engineers
frequently get into informal (example: Subject Matter Expert) and
formal technical leadership roles within their programs, as
applicable and per interest. We have plenty of opportunities for
career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership
positions. Our department is part of a larger organization that
includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well
as a Hardware Engineering unit. This larger organization influences
cross-program collaboration, professional development and training,
as well as engagement and inclusion activities such as
lunch-n-learns, campus events, and leadership mixers. Basic
Qualifications: Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
with 2 years of relative experience; OR Master’s degree in a STEM
discipline with 0 years of relative experience; An additional 4
years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree. Level 3:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relative
experience; Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of
relative experience; OR PhD with 1 years of experience; An
additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of
degree. Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope poly required at time
of application Strong experience building and running containers
Strong experience with Linux Administration Strong experience with
shell scripting Experience with git Experience working with CI/CD
pipelines (gitlab or Jenkins experience is preferred) Experience
working with Kubernetes Experience with messaging software (kafka,
artemis, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ansible
Experience with Java, python Experience with system monitoring
(E.g. Prometheus or similar) Familiarity with computer networking
Familiarity with access control techniques (RBAC, ABAC, etc.) and
software (keycloak) Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 -
$137,600.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
