The hands-on Senior Platform Engineer will function as part of a
team effort to create an multi-channel Ordering Experience for the
Consumer Business Unit and Customers. The Engineer will be engaged
in developing best-in-class strategy and solutions for the ordering
stack, provide key capabilities for critical cross-organization
programs, and prove out emerging technologies and DevOps best
practices. Will build automation and systems management tools that
make it easier to scale the ordering platform and deliver cloud
services. Will work on improving systems performance and
reliability, responsible for refining a defined high-level
Microservices architecture and provide architecture know-how within
local agile development teams, providing hands-on involvement with
development and test through the entire product realization
Actively drive efforts to build best-in-class microservices and
stack utilizing cutting-edge solutions
Educate and assist other teams with architecting and re-platforming
their application to a Kubernetes native application, using best
practices and sound designs.
Drive organization towards a dev ops model
Identify technical obstacles early and work to find creative
solutions and able to troubleshoot complex hardware and software
defects with low supervision
Comprehensive knowledge on capabilities and constraints of
technology platforms with a focus on micro-service and cloud
technologies, PAAS with experience designing, implementing and
supporting applications in Kubernetes or Docker.
Share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint
teams, and mentor more junior team members
Maintain records to document program development and revisions
Drive proactive monitoring of transactions and efficiency, drive
improvements through data analytics
Evaluate and implement High Availability elements in platform,
architecting highly scalable and distributed microservices that can
process our large customer data sets in real-time.
Supervise pipeline management and branching/merging strategies
Conduct design and implementation reviews to ensure compliance with
Focus on continuous improvement practices as required to meet
quality / time to market imperatives
Will leverage candidate's knowledge of full-stack development
--- Typically 10+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's
Degree or equivalent education and experience and 8+ years with a
--- Significant Microservices architecture experience for embedded
applications, preferably in the telecommunications domain with
strong understanding of microservice architectures, principles and
--- Passionate leadership to educate and direct teams for the micro
--- Operations Experience (ops or even devops work) with good
experience in an Architect role
--- Deep understanding of micro-service and cloud technologies,
PAAS with experience designing, implementing and supporting
applications in Kubernetes and Docker containers
--- Proficient CI/CD Knowledge (Jenkins, GoCD, Sonar, JUnit, Maven,
Git - or equivalents of these) and static analysis tools
--- Working knowledge of API interactions and database design with
noSQL technologies including MongoDB or Datastax(Cassandra) as well
as experience with Oracle, mySQL
--- Highly Experienced with UNIX system scripting (Python, bash,
ssh, shell, scripting, etc)
--- Proficient in Java and Spring framework or similar stack.
--- Experience with enterprise messaging with ActiveMQ, Tibco, and
--- Experience with Splunk, Swagger API, Postman
--- Experience with Agile software development lifecycles and
--- Strong people skills--Effective communication, interpersonal
and analytical skills.

--- Self-starter, can-do attitude a must in a fast-moving business
and technical environment.
