Swedish Medical Center, a prominent entity in the HealthONE network, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern for our Orthopedics and Spine unit. This role provides a unique opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience and learn directly from experienced nursing staff and specialists within a leading healthcare facility. As a Nurse Extern in the Ortho Spine department, you will assist in delivering high-quality care to patients suffering from orthopedic and spinal conditions, support daily operations, and participate in patient education under the supervision of registered nurses and medical staff. Assist RNs and medical staff in providing direct patient care to ortho spine patients. Support in patient preparation for surgery and in recovery post-operation. Help in the administration of medications and monitoring of patient vitals. Participate in patient education and discharge planning. Maintain a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient records. Basic understanding of orthopedic and spinal healthcare practices. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain strict protocols. Strong observational and communication abilities. Proficiency in using medical software for patient care documentation. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Active enrollment in an accredited nursing school.
