Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A unique opportunity is available for experienced perioperative nurses with orthopedic and joint surgery expertise. This contract position is located in Aurora, CO, at a well-established medical center renowned for quality surgical care. The role is ideal for a self-directed professional who thrives in a fast-paced operating room environment and demonstrates flexibility across day and evening hours, including call shifts. Responsibilities include providing perioperative nursing care in a state-of-the-art operating room with 14 ORs staffed by a dedicated team of 70 full-time professionals. The unit performs a wide range of surgical procedures excluding cardiovascular, neurosurgery, and transplant cases. Nurses work closely with surgical technologists and trauma teams, maintaining patient ratios around 1:1, and utilize the Meditech EMR system to document care accurately. You will be integral to ensuring patient safety, coordinating care efficiently, and upholding the highest clinical standards. Desired Qualifications and Experience: - Current NBSTA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) and DORA certifications are mandatory - Demonstrated orthopedic/joint surgery nursing experience - Flexibility to work varied day/evening shifts with on-call duties - Effective teamwork and accountability skills - Level I trauma and advanced trauma certifications are highly desirable Schedule: - Primarily day shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM - Additional shifts between 3 PM to 11 PM or 11 AM to 9 PM may be considered Location Overview: Aurora, Colorado is a vibrant city offering a blend of urban amenities and natural beauty.
