This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in a stepdown unit focused on transplant and progressive care patients. The role is essential to supporting patient recovery in a high-acuity environment with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio, emphasizing clinical proficiency and adaptability. Location:Aurora, CO, a thriving city known for its diverse community and access to outdoor recreational activities including nearby parks and trails. Responsibilities: - Deliver nursing care to patients recovering from transplant and other serious conditions in a progressive care stepdown setting - Manage patient care involving heparin drips, patient-controlled analgesia, wound and drain careincluding wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains - Utilize medical equipment such as bladder scanners, EKG machines, and various patient lifts - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes - Monitor and document patient conditions accurately using Meditech EMR Qualifications: - Valid RN licensure with Med/Surg and telemetry experience mandatory - Proven experience managing patients receiving heparin drips and PCAs - Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit experience preferred - Experience with solid organ transplant patients (kidney, liver, pancreas) highly desirable - Ability to operate specialized medical technology and equipment - Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment Schedule & Job Type: - Contract position - Evening to night shift, 7 PM 7 AM This role invites dedicated registered nurses who are reliable and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced critical care setting.
