This contract role focuses on providing high-quality care in a busy transplant and progressive care unit (PCU) setting. The unit cares for patients requiring close monitoring and complex nursing interventions, including those with solid organ transplants. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex conditions, including transplant recipients and stepdown patients Manage patient care with a focus on Med/Surg and telemetry monitoring, including administration of Heparin drips and PCA pumps Perform wound and drain care such as managing wound vacs, chest tubes, and JP drains Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Utilize advanced equipment including bladder scanners, EKG machines, and various lifts safely and effectively Document patient information accurately using the Meditech EMR system Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current RN licensure with experience in Med/Surg and telemetry nursing Proven ability to manage patients on Heparin gtts and PCA devices Stepdown or progressive care unit experience is highly preferred Experience with solid organ transplants (kidney, liver, pancreas) is advantageous Reliable, adaptable, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment Contract Details: Location: Longmont, CO (near Denver) Type: Contract Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM shifts, offering an opportunity to engage in high-acuity night nursing This position includes healthcare benefits, the potential for flexible scheduling, and paid time off options to support work-life balance.
