Facility: GSS ND Larimore Center Location: Larimore, ND Address: 501 E Front St, Larimore, ND 58251, USA Shift: 12-Hour Day Shifts Job Schedule: Full-Time Weekly Hours: 36.00 Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00 Department Overview Join our team as a CMA II! Starting wage is $22, depending on experience. - CMA II certification is required upon hiring. - Shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Job Responsibilities The Medication Assistant (MA) acts as a caregiver, providing resident-focused nursing care and assistance with daily living activities to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate care that addresses both physical and psychological needs as outlined in the care plan. Specific tasks may involve: Assisting with basic health care needs such as bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing. Obtaining and documenting vital signs. Providing psycho-social support and personal care. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring and walking using proper techniques and equipment. Facilitating food preparation and dining experiences, including assisting with meals and providing hydration and supplements as needed. The CMA II will also administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, ensuring compliance with state regulations. Responsibilities include documenting care outcomes, communicating changes in resident conditions, and collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens. Additional duties involve maintaining cleanliness in living areas and supporting wellness and recreational programs to encourage resident participation. Qualifications - A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred but not mandatory. - Candidates should be at least 18 years old, with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience being advantageous. - Completion of annual department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits is required, with a minimum of 12 hours annually as per state mandates. - Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required in North Dakota and Iowa, along with successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course. - In Minnesota, candidates must have nursing assistant certification, complete a 75-hour course, and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry, along with completing a state-approved Trained Medication Assistant course. - In South Dakota, successful completion of the state-approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course is necessary, with certification to be maintained. - For all locations, candidates must possess the state-required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA), typically following the attainment of CNA certification.
