Reports to the System Safety Engineering Senior Manager. The successful candidate will lead culture change initiatives within the Operations Safety/Environmental Engineering organization. A change agent. This individual will manage the System Safety Engineering Processes that span the Product Lifecycle. Directs the various System Safety Engineering analysis and recommendations of safety criteria in system design, equipment, facilities and procedures to control or eliminate hazards. Candidate is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Common Integrated Processes System (CIPS). Responsible for directing and conducting program assessments to determine CIPS compliance and health across the Enterprise. SSC new business capture including proposal coordination and execution. Preparation and participation in Industry forums (e.g., G-48, ASSE, SAE, etc) that influence System Safety Engineering standards (e.g., MIL-STD-882, NASA 8719.26, etc ). Responsible for Domestic and International Regulations including transportation of explosives, chemicals, and integrated products. Candidate will perform horizontal integration within the OS/EE organization to identify opportunities and value added modifications to become more competitive. Candidate is responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Basic Qualifications:
* A minimum of a BS in Safety, Engineering, Science or equivalent experience, Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
* Must be experienced/fluent in two of the three; MIL-STD-882, Range Safety requirements/processes (EWR 127-1 and/or AFSPCMAN 91-710), and Domestic/International safety regulations.
* Experience with System Safety contractual and/or SSC Command Media requirements and their execution throughout the product lifecycle.
* Experience leading diverse engineering teams to identify hazards, assess and mitigate associated risks encountered in the design, development, test, production, use and disposal.
Desired Skills:
A Full Spectrum Leader, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing diverse teams of System Safety engineers.
Experience with leading audits, budget responsibility,
Mishap prevention/investigations.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP).
Green Belt/Black Belt Certified.
Subject matter expert in the System Safety discipline.
