Doing The Analog IC Validation team is responsible for creating,
implementing, and executing tests and validation processes to
ensure that our semiconductor products meet industry standards and
perform reliably in real-world applications. Analog IC Validation
engineers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including
analog design, hardware, and software-to validate and troubleshoot
new products in a lab setting. This group works with cutting-edge
test equipment on advanced storage silicon, developing validation
strategies for a rapidly evolving high-speed serial technology
landscape. As an Analog Systems Engineer, you'll be engaged from
the earliest stages of product development. You'll partner with
analog and digital design teams to define hardware test features
that ensure compliance with specifications. During the design
phase, you'll help evaluate and select test equipment. Pre-silicon
activities may include creating tests and automation scripts using
test chips. Post-silicon validation involves a mix of manual and
automated testing, requiring strong debugging skills and meticulous
attention to detail when analyzing high-speed signals. After
validation, you'll assist with customer bring-up and help resolve
any technical challenges. - Design and implement characterization
procedures and tests to ensure compliance with SAS, SATA, PCIe,
NVMe, DDR4, and ONFI standards - Review and execute comprehensive
validation plans on prototype silicon - Collaborate with firmware
engineers, high-speed I/O designers, and digital IC teams during
pre- and post-silicon validation - Develop Python scripts for test
automation and equipment control - Create host-side tools and
applications for low-level system validation - Build SI simulation
models for customer use - Work with board design teams to define
evaluation board test features and resolve signal integrity issues
- Support partner bring-up and troubleshoot SI-related customer
challenges - Drive system-level debug and implement creative
solutions to complex technical problems - Present technical
findings clearly to engineering teams - Train Field Application
Engineers (FAEs) on new product functionality - Collaborate with
technical documentation teams on datasheets, engineering notes, and
manuals Essential Skills Required: - BSEE (or similar) and 8 yrs
experience - A solid understanding of transmission line theory and
high-speed I/O operation. - Experience with the use of VNAs &
real-time oscilloscopes - Ability to write and debug programs
written in Python with some experience in C and MATLAB - Strong
debugging skills - Experience running Analog simulation tools like
SPICE - Solid understanding of computer architecture and
system-level operation/execution - Practical experience in
system-level debug with good problem-solving skills - Ability to
quickly learn new technologies, good communication skills,
including verbal, presentation, and documentation skills and works
well in a team and as an individual. Bonus Points For The sources
of jitter and EMI, TDRs, spectrum analyzers. Experience
developing/debugging automated test scripts, preferably in Python.
