Come help build end-to-end Future Battle Management, Command & Control (FBMC2) systems and integrate our cutting-edge technologies to bring advanced capability directly to the operational community through agile demonstrations and leave behind prototypes.
We are seeking a Hardware Engineering Lead to work within the eTech FBMC2 organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end engineering, production, and installation of all FBMC2 compute stacks, communications equipment, security devices, and general infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:
--- Manage, Lead, & Improve all aspects of the Rapid Capability Hardware Development Process & Hardware Development Plan
--- Partner with adjacent hardware development leads to continually improve hardware development process
--- Champion the implementation of end-to-end hardware digital threads within 1LMX toolsets
--- Lead hardware costing efforts and develop strategies to efficiently expedite rapid capability deployment
--- Conduct hardware cost/technical/schedule trade-studies of equipment sources, engineering NRE (non-recurring effort), production operations NRE, assembly/test, shipment, installation, and light-off permutations with a focus on rapid capability deployment
--- Develop minimum viable top level hardware requirements
--- Partner with production operations to implement built-to-spec compute stack assemblies, minimize overly constraining build-to-print requirements, and develop capacity plans.
--- Develop hardware roadmaps, assessing 3rd party hardware (computing & communications), and shape top level hardware requirements to utilize the supply chain to the maximum extent possible.
--- Partner with supply chain management to develop commercial of the shelf hardware strategies and reduce/eliminate directed source/sole source component.
--- Develop, manage, and lead the Equipment Planning Diagrams (EPD) & hardware drawing release plan
--- Lead the HW implementation within Enterprise Product Data management (EPDM)
--- Lead the HPCD (Hardware Program Control Directive) Planning and Release
--- Primary engineering support throughout production process
--- Partner with LM Facilities & Engineering Infrastructure to develop & lead installation plans at Moorestown NJ, Deer Creek Facility CO, Lighthouse Suffolk VA, and Honolulu HI.
--- Partner with LM Facilities & Production Operations to develop and lead production testing, packing, and shipping.
--- Lead FBMC2 Capitol planning and execution activities.
--- Maintain cognizant oversite of equipment configuration at all FBMC2 deployment sites
Basic Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's or Master's level in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Math or related technical experience is required from an accredited University
--- 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree
--- Strong proficiency in system development, hardware development, and complex Integration and Test activities
--- Experience managing hardware development and integration projects
--- Experience in leading co-located, multi-functional cross engineering discipline teams with excellent communication skills
--- Experience managing technical efforts in development, production, and support / sustainment phases
--- Agile development experience and familiarity with DevSecOps philosophies, practices, and tools
--- Experience in managing supplier and subcontractor performance, execution, and deliveries
--- Strong proficiency in cost estimation, basis of estimate development, and change impact assessment/proposals
--- Must have at least a Secret security clearance prior to start. TS/SCI strongly preferred.
Desired Skills:
--- Demonstrated ability to meet program commitments including technical performance, schedule, resources, and cost
--- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large, complex, and diverse cross-functional engineering teams
--- Detailed understanding of systems engineering processes, definition and allocation of system requirements, and definition of system and subsystem performance requirements
--- Ability to identify risk, create contingency plans and monitor outcomes
--- Knowledge of emerging system engineering practices, Rrapid Capability Development, Dx, MBE, DevSecOps (eg, CI/CD development process, SW installs onto new HW and SSPs, etc.), and experience in adopting innovative processes and removing non-value-added ones
--- Demonstrated experience in driving data driven change in support of improving affordability and quality
--- Experience in conducting trade studies, evaluating impacts, and recommending courses of action
--- Strong written and verbal communication skills
--- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
--- Must be able & willing to travel
--- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $100,400 - $192,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
