Department SummaryDISH is transforming the future of

virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch. The

Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe Traffic Engineering team within the
Network Engineering Department is responsible for all operational
processes for establishing and scaling connectivity, defining
guidelines for network growth, and interconnection of voice and
mobile services. This includes land to mobile voice and data,
messaging and domestic and international roaming.Day-to-day job
responsibilities:
- Coordinate with business teams to integrate new roaming
partners and update technical changes (GSMA IR21) into the core
network.
- Work with a range of core engineering teams to support the
implementation of routing and interconnection (VPN or leased
transport) for roaming.
- Interface with higher levels of the management team across
various organizations as part of the process of managing all facets
of large, complex infrastructure deployments.
- Assure compliance with GSMA processes.
- Develop and execute tests to assure proper operation for new
roaming partners
- Assure inter-carrier messaging (SMS/MMS) operates correctly
consistent with 3GPP and other industry requirements. Skills,
Experience And RequirementsThe successful Engineer II will have:
- Extensive operational experience in a mobility environment
preferably a major Mobile Network Operator (MNO)
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, architecture and
environments.
- Knowledge of interconnection principles and technology
including use of 3 rd party aggregators and IP exchanges.
- Experience working with cloud native applications and
familiarity to standalone 5G networking principles
- Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Executive level troubleshooting, problem solving, project
management, and interpersonal skills.
- Decision making skills (by making appropriate use of all
available information and data; anticipating the future and
preparing accordingly; recognizing the impact of decisions upon the
rest of the organization; receiving broad guidance; being
accountable for broad project results; and being responsible for
the leadership of broad programs in support of organizational or
area strategies).
- Superior organizational and planning skills (setting and
communicating priorities; anticipating workload impact on resources
of both self and team; delegating where appropriate; consistently
following up on outstanding items; and providing focus in meetings
and discussions).
- Ability to learn new technology quickly and apply working
knowledge of wireless engineering on new projects.
- Must be self-motivated, show initiative, and be able to work
independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills needed.
- Need to be highly productive and pay close attention to
detail.
- Experience with engineering and engineering economic
principles. Salary RangeCompensation: $75,600.00/Year -
