Information Systems Auditor at Nelnet has the opportunity to see a
wide variety of technologies and systems across our diverse
company. We are looking for someone who loves to learn and has an
interest in security, change management, policies and procedures,
cloud technology, and new emerging technologies. The IS Auditor I
will work with the Audit Director and Manager to conduct IT
internal audits and build relationships with stakeholders across

IS Auditor I analyzes internal controls over Nelnets diverse
technology environment including areas such as physical security,
access provisioning, system logging and monitoring, and systems
continuity. The end result of the IS Auditor Is efforts provide
assurances to its customers related to the adequacy of Nelnets
control environment, systems reliability and quality of
information, all in an effort to maintain Nelnets reputation as a
leader in the industries it serves." **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Internal Audit: -75%** Participate in and execute audit project
tasks such as walkthroughs and testing. Collect and understand
compliance requirements, policies, procedures, regulations and
controls related to Nelnets diverse information technology
environment. Assess the effectiveness of Nelnets control
environment, including governance, risk management, management
information systems, safeguarding assets, and process and control
information through various test procedures and reviewing
documentation and transactions utilizing COSO/COBIT objectives and
components or other relevant frameworks. Prepare and document
detailed work papers (narratives, process maps, testing worksheets,
etc.) throughout all audit phases utilizing electronic audit
software to ensure compliance with Audit Services and the Institute
of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards, and/or Information Systems
Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Standards and COSO/COBIT
framework objectives COSO framework objectives, and/or other
applicable standards. Monitor audit projects and communicate the
status of audit projects to the Director or other supervisory
staff. Administrative, Leadership, and Management: -5% Develop
knowledge and understanding of Nelnet, its strategies, policies,
procedures, and operations. Establish and maintain working
relationships with coworkers and other associates. Demonstrate a
commitment to teamwork and exhibit a positive professional image.
Assist with special projects and act as an audit liaison with other
areas of the company as directed. Participate in the continuous
improvement of Audit Services policies and procedures. Assist with
mentoring other audit team members and interns in all facets of
audit, customer relations and project management. Engage in
internal and external education opportunities to develop and
maintain knowledge of Nelnet, the financial services industry, and
audit industry. Assist other members of Audit Services in
completing assignments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
**External Audit: -20%** Assist in the process of performing audit
work and required documentation for external auditors in their
execution of SSAE 18 and SOX engagements, as well as other external
audits. **Pay Range for this position is - $42k-$79k **EDUCATION**
: A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in information systems,
information technology, management information systems, accounting,
or similar technology-related field. **EXPERIENCE** : Up to 2 years
of experience working in a professional environment. Experience in
internal or external audit, quality assurance, process improvement,
technology, and/or accounting desired. Interest in obtaining a
related professional license/certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CISM,
CISSP) or progress toward certification. **COMPETENCIES
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:** Strong aptitude for learning new
concepts and think independently. Ability to make decisions.
Ability to adapt in fast-paced environment. Commitment to customer
service. Strong ability to clearly communicate thoughts verbally
and in writing. Ability to analyze complex data. Familiarity with
information systems, auditing, quality assurance and control
concepts. Ability to build relationships, facilitated and work in
teams, and interact with many levels of management. Ability to work
in an organized manner and meet goals and budgets. Working
knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and other
standard software application tools Ability to travel, including
